Thus, you might play through on simple for the story only to find out that won't get you to the ending. 2) You can only go so far on simple mode, which isn't made clear at the beginning of the game. You could argue that this makes the game even more difficult, but I'd rather they increase the difficulty in a less aggravating way to locking you into an upgrade. I can easily see why people would like this game.
